When defining positioning within the market of a product, there's always the risk of doing to poorly. In that case customers are likely going to be disappointed. Most likely they will be expecting something our product fails to deliver.

For startups this can be devastating, since product development may end up compensating by adding features to satisfy those early customers instead of focusing on finding value proposition-market fit.
