Many people will have an opinion on the product and its features, but not everyone will be a stakeholder. For a product manager it is important to understand the distinction, since stakeholders are the ones that can have veto power, and the ones who should ultimately be heard [@cagan2018Inspired: how to create tech products customers love].

Most likely stakeholders are:

  • The CEO and the leaders of marketing, sales, and technology
  • Business parners
  • Finance
  • Legal
  • Compliance
  • Business development (to make sure there are no violations of contracts or relationships)
